Connection between poverty and passion.

As we were discussing in class, i believe that if you don't have much as a child you tend to appreciate the little things more then a person who has everything as a child. We spoil our kids and when they get older they get use to that feeling of being spoiled. When a person is used to being able to get what ever they want they have a different view of the world then a person who works hard everyday to feed his family. I feel that you are more passionate about family if you have less because with money there is greed. When some one is poor they don't have much to grow up with. I was not poor, but i didn't have the best things growing up. My mom worked hard for me and now that i am older i work hard for her.

We all have passion within us. It just takes the right thing to show us what that is. People have different passion. I believe that the people that don't have much are closer to their families because family is all they got. I also think some families that don't have much are much happier then some families that have a lot of money to spare. We all want to be happy and if we are happy then it rubs off to other like in the book The Powers of Giving says "And then that act of charity which has begun at home, extends to everyone you meet in the world outside your home"(Jamal & McKinnon, 114) We want to be happy and when we are happy we also have passion.

  1. I agree with you, but I also feel like passion is something like a bridge that connects the two (rich and poor) i'll use the same example you used family. I feel a mans passion for his family be her rich or poor if the two men never had anything else in common or would not otherwise normally speak to each other. If you sit both of the men down to have a conversation about how much love and passion they have for their family race, creed, sexual orientation, or finances would not matter and may not come up but I can guarantee you the two men would be able to talk for hours about their shared passion which is their family.
